"Before the Orbit" is an original composition by the members of netcat recorded live at Vermillion in Seattle on February 10th, 2016 as part of Vermillion's Table & Chairs 2nd Wednesday Performance Series.

This track is a bonus release to accompany the publication of an academic research paper entitled "Orbital Edge Computing: Nanosatellite Constellations as a New Class of Computer Systems", written by Bradley Denby and Brandon Lucia at Carnegie Mellon University and published in the Proceedings of the International Symposium on Architecture Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems 2020.
